Below are a series of pictures - showing the condition of the typical set of BMW 850 woodwork, BEFORE we restored it and then what it looked at it AFTER we Refinished it with a Rich and Sporty PIANO BLACK Finish. |
As we mentioned on our BMW main page - Unfortunately, the veneer that was used on these sets was paper thin, and any attempt to remove the old finish ruins the veneer....making the parts unsuitable for Refinishing. Additionally some of the parts were plastic and the veneer was bonded directly to that plastic making them unsuitable for Reveneering and Refinishing. |

BMW 850 CSI Shift Console Panel Before we Refinished it with a Piano Black finish. The Shift Console Panel from this BMW 850 CSI had really faded and changed in color. If you look closely where there are bends and dips in the shape of the part, you can see where the wood veneer - in order to cover such a complex shape - needed to be cut and patched at the factory. |

On the center Console of this BMW 850 CSI, you can really see a difference in color between the ashtray lid and the rest of the part. More than likely, the ashtray lid was in its' open position most of the time. |
